Welcome to RemindMeBot ("we", "us", or "our"). We operate remindmebot.net (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read it carefully.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

• Email address — required to send you reminders.
• Reminder content — the text, date, and details of reminders you set.
• Account information — name, password (hashed), and preferences if you register.
• Google account data — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture via Google OAuth.

We also collect limited technical data automatically:

• IP address, browser type, and operating system.
• Pages visited and time spent (via server logs).
• Timezone detected from your browser (used to schedule reminders correctly).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To send reminder emails at the times you request.
• To manage your account and provide customer support.
• To improve and personalize the Service.
• To send transactional emails (reminder confirmations, delivery receipts).
• To detect and prevent abuse or spam.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Email Sending

Reminder emails are delivered via Resend (resend.com), a third-party email delivery service. Your email address and reminder content are transmitted to Resend solely for delivery purposes. Resend's privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

4. Google OAuth

If you choose to sign in with Google, we use Google OAuth 2.0. We only request the minimum required scopes (email and profile). We do not access your Gmail, Calendar, or any other Google service data. Your Google credentials are never stored on our servers — only your Google account's email address and display name are saved.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to store your session token and preferences locally. We use minimal session cookies required for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

Reminder data is retained until you delete it or close your account. Unregistered (guest) reminders are automatically purged 90 days after the scheduled send date. You may request deletion of all your data at any time by emailing us.

7. Data Security

We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no internet transmission is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Object to or restrict processing.
• Data portability (receive a copy of your data in machine-readable format).
• Withdraw consent at any time.
