Welcome to RemindMeBot ("we", "us", or "our"). We operate remindmebot.net (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

• Email address — required to send you reminders.
• Reminder content — the text, date, and details of reminders you set.
• Account information — name, password (hashed), and preferences if you register.
• Google account data — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture via Google OAuth.

We also collect limited technical data automatically:

• IP address, browser type, and operating system.
• Pages visited and time spent (via server logs).
• Timezone detected from your browser (used to schedule reminders correctly).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To send reminder emails at the times you request.
• To manage your account and provide customer support.
• To improve and personalize the Service.
• To send transactional emails (reminder confirmations, delivery receipts).
• To detect and prevent abuse or spam.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Paddle (paddle.com), our third-party payment processor. When you make a purchase, your payment information is collected and processed directly by Paddle — we do not store your credit card details. Paddle's use of your data is governed by their Privacy Policy.

4. Email Delivery

Reminder emails are delivered via Resend (resend.com). Your email address and reminder content are transmitted to Resend solely for delivery purposes. Resend's privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

5. Google OAuth

If you sign in with Google, we use Google OAuth 2.0 with the minimum required scopes (email and profile). We do not access your Gmail, Calendar, or other Google services. Your Google credentials are never stored on our servers.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage for session tokens and preferences. We use minimal session cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

Reminder data is retained until you delete it or close your account. Unregistered (guest) reminders are automatically purged 90 days after the scheduled send date. You may request deletion at any time.

8. Data Security

We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no internet transmission is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@remindmebot.net.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email and update the "Last updated" date above.
